Step 1: Sourcing Authentic Brabus Product

This is where most conversions go wrong before they start. The Brabus replica market is enormous. Cheap wide-body kits manufactured in China flood the market at a fraction of the price of authentic Brabus product. They look similar in photos. They don't fit correctly, use inferior materials, and fail faster, particularly in Las Vegas heat. On a vehicle worth $200,000+, a replica body kit is the wrong call on every level.

At Lusso, we source Brabus product through authorized distribution channels. Lead time for authentic Brabus parts is typically 4 to 8 weeks from order depending on program and availability. We confirm all components before booking the installation start date.

Step 2: Pre-Install Assessment

Before anything comes off the vehicle, we do a full exterior assessment. We photograph every panel, document any existing damage or imperfections, and confirm the paint condition. If paint correction is needed on panels that will remain, we plan that into the project sequence. If the vehicle is being wrapped as part of the build, which many G-Wagon builds are, we sequence the wrap to happen after the kit is installed.

Step 3: OEM Panel Removal

The Widestar conversion requires removing the factory fender flares, front and rear bumpers, and affected trim pieces. These come off carefully, the hardware is retained and documented. On a G-Wagon, the body-on-frame construction and thick panel gaps require specific approach to avoid damage to adjacent surfaces.

Step 4: Dry Fit

Every Brabus component is dry-fitted, placed on the vehicle without final hardware or adhesive, to verify alignment, panel gaps, and fitment. This is the step most shops skip because it takes time. It's also the step that prevents fitment problems from becoming permanent. Any adjustments are made at this stage.

Step 5: Paint or Finish Work

Brabus components typically arrive in primer or pre-painted black. If the build requires body-color matching, matching factory Mercedes paint, a custom color, or preparing surfaces for PPF, that happens before final installation. We coordinate with our paint partners on color matching and surface preparation.

Step 6: Final Installation

Components are mounted with OEM-grade hardware. Brabus uses specific torque specifications and adhesive systems on certain components. Edge gaps are checked from every angle. The vehicle is detailed before any photography or delivery.

Step 7: PPF (Strongly Recommended)

A Brabus G-Wagon conversion is a significant investment. The front bumper, fender flares, and hood are directly in the path of highway debris. We apply XPEL Ultimate Plus PPF to all new Brabus components as part of the project sequence, not as a separate later visit. The kit goes on, PPF follows. The paint on the new components never takes a stone chip unprotected.

Step 8: Wheels

Most Brabus G-Wagon builds include a wheel upgrade. The Brabus Monoblock series is the natural Brabus pairing. Vossen HF-2 or HF-5 in 22" or 23" is the most popular non-Brabus wheel choice for the Widestar build in Las Vegas. We spec the wheel in the context of the completed Widestar body dimensions, the wider arches allow and typically require a wider, more aggressive fitment than stock.
